wild swimming book
“Climb more mountains, eat more ice cream, go barefoot oftener, swim more rivers, watch more sunsets, laugh more and cry less. Life must be lived as we go along” - Robert J. Hastings.
An introduction to wild swimming, written by Flora Jamieson and beautifully illustrated by Gemma Koomen. With practical advice and safety tips, as well as inspiring quotes and useful resources, this guide is perfect for those wishing to dip their toe into the glorious pursuit of wild swimming in lakes, rivers, pools, waterfalls and sea. The idea came to Flora after she was invited to give a talk on wild swimming at the Sisterhood Camp, a creative retreat for women held annually at Fforest in Wales. As part of the talk, she wanted to produce a short fact sheet with some key points on it, but the idea blossomed from an ordinary handout to the beautiful wild swimming book. Flora approached one of her favourite artists, Gemma Koomen to illustrate the pages of the book with her delightful paintings, capturing the beauty and freedom of wild swimming and the joy felt from being outdoors.
